I never thought I’d get married in the Spring, especially during a season dictated by unpredictable dust storms. But the weather this day couldn’t have been more perfect. We chose to get married in a secluded area of the desert near Soledad Canyon, hidden between two small hills. We were so lucky to be surrounded by all our closest family and friends, especially when we surprised most of them with the news a month prior. We all gathered at the coordinates right before sunset and walked to the ceremony location with everyone following behind us. It was such a beautiful moment to arrive at our ceremony spot and to watch everyone follow, one aft er another until everyone was gathered around. It was a small intimate ceremony fi lled with so much love and consideration. We said our “I do’s” right as the sun was setting and the mountain behind us became guilded in a warm orange light. I collected these rocks as we were making our way to and from the ceremony location. We had made a trip here previously when location scouting to find rocks for the ring we would have fabricated by Johanna, and it’s hand’s down my favorite rock i’ve ever collected. Whenever I think back to this day all I can say is “what a special day.” Everything about it felt unreal and something I never thought I’d get to experience.
