The river rocks came from the coast of Washington, when we spent a few days for Shelby’s dad’s celebration of life ceremony. Collecting rocks and other objects has always been something I’ve done, but I’d never really thought back to those moments until I unpacked the jars I had the stones all these stones were kept in.. The moment they fell into my hand I was brought back to those places, remembering standing on each coast trying to identify different sounds I heard. Crawling my toes into the black sand, hearing the gentle current splash on itself, two different temperatures, mid summer heat in Italy, and an overcast spring day in Oregon with misty air; two differnet seasons, but I remembered them both.
